Account Manager/Junior Account Manager

Stratosphere Creative is a small, tight-nit integrated marketing communications agency located in the historic West End District of downtown Dallas. The agency offers a bevy of marketing services including design, branding, advertising and public relations. Stratosphere, an award-winning group, is best known for its interactive and print design work but continues to grow in scope of work, client base and team members.

While the agency is small, the volume of work is large. Stratosphere needs to fill two important positions that play both an external-facing and internal-facing role. The roles are Account Manager and Junior Account Manager – and can be best understood in the following breakout of the positions’ internal and external faces.

Externally - Client champion: A dedicated resource specifically focused on helping our clients become successful and realizing long-term value of Stratosphere Creative solutions and strategies.

Internally - Team driver: An internal go-to for the account team to keep them aligned with the client’s approved creative brief and within the budgeted project scope.

Ideal candidate will:

• Have amazing, natural big-picture step-by-step vision for how projects are run
• Own service or product deliverable from initiation to closure
• Maintain healthy client relationships while building credibility through timely action and responsiveness
• Exhibit brick solid demeanor and remain stable under pressure and on tight deadline situations
• Regularly report on performance by proactively conducting account reviews with all business champions to assess needs, trends and provide recommendations for staying a course or changing it
• Oversee team activities ensuring completion of the project/service on schedule and within budget constraints
• Meet regularly with internal account team to understand overall account strategy
• Work with agency leadership to provide prompt illumination of any contract concerns or issues
• Engage and alert leadership should any additional resources from a development or design perspective be needed for large projects
• Have a solid background with project management software (both for internal team planning and profitability tracking)
• Create project plans for long- and short-term adoption strategies and execute them
• Possess strong organizational and analytical skills
• Communicate clearly and directly in written and oral communication skills (must not be afraid to pick up a phone and make a call)
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills (must be outgoing)
• Have a proven track record for resolving client conflict
• Understand how to take initiative with client adoption or incremental growth opportunities

Account Manager Position Requirements

Mandatory:

• 2-4 years of experience in a project management role
• Bachelors Degree
• Mac/Apple friendly and comfortable
• Project management software experience

Desired Plus: (not a deal breaker but does give candidates a leg up)

• Project Management Professional with PMI Certification (or equivalent PMI studies)
• Business communications or administration professional or equivalent degree studies
• Account management in a cloud computing or other IT/technology environment
• Creative agency background (e.g. design, advertising, PR)
• Candidate with base camp and/or StreamTime project management experience
• Current or former frustrated designer who has proven account management skills

Junior Account Manager Position Requirements

Mandatory:

• 0-2 years of experience (could be recent graduate or just have a couple of years of experience)
• Must be very mature, well put together and organized
• Associates or Bachelors Degree
• Mac/Apple friendly and comfortable

Desired Plus: (not a deal breaker but does give candidates a leg up)

• Project Management Professional with PMI Certification (or equivalent PMI studies)
• Business communications or administration professional or equivalent degree studies
• Project management software experience
• Background in or familiarity with remodeling, home building materials or big box retail
• Creative agency background (e.g. design, advertising, PR)
• Base camp and/or StreamTime project management experience

Salary Range:

Account Manager - $26,000 to $30,000

Junior Account Manager - $22,000 to $25,000
