District Web Developer

Plan, design, implement and administer district Internet/Intranet solutions. Create innovative solutions in support of district communication efforts.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s Degree Required

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Experience with content management systems: Drupal, Joomla or Word Press (Preference will be given to candidates with extensive Drupal experience)
  • Experience in Web content delivery solutions including RSS, video streaming and podcasting preferred
  • Experience in HTML5, CSS2, Javascript, LESS, PHP, ASP and/or .Net
  • Experience with frameworks: JQuery and Prototype
  • Significant experience with Adobe Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop, Flash, Flash Video and Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated artistic ability, strong graphic design skill set required
  • Demonstrated creative and artistic background
  • Strong organizational, communications and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with the general public, administrators, principals and teachers
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with minimal direction
  • Ability to design and deploy both static and dynamic Web solutions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of information design and user interface best practices
  • Demonstrated ability managing large websites

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Server 2003+ management and security
  • Experience with Linux server management and security
  • Experience in Microsoft IIS and Apache
  • Experience with Aegir hosting system

Experience:

At least two to three years of web development/graphic design experience

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain accurate and timely updates for Internet/Intranet content areas
  • Manage, develop and support both static and dynamic Internet/Intranet solutions
  • Provide content navigation assessment, link analysis, and comprehensive web site traffic and performance analysis
  • Ensure web pages are accessible for persons with disabilities
  • Assess and implement new trends in Web design and functionality
  • Assist with Web strategy, planning and strategic direction
  • Assist with other District communications efforts
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Communications Officer

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Establish and communicate standards for campus webmasters.
